The Bally story began way back in 1932, when a Chicago-based salesman named Raymond Moloney decided to shake up the gaming scene with his own pinball table, called Ballyhoo.
Ballyhoo was a massive hit, so Mr Moloney set up his own business: ‘The Bally Manufacturing Corporation’, or ‘Bally’s’ for short. Thousands of Ballyhoo pinball games were sold, delivering thrilling experiences and low-cost entertainment, quickly cementing Bally’s reputation as a leader in the industry.
There have been a few changes over the decades. Take the 1940s, when Bally’s manufactured aeroplane parts and munitions during the war. Or the 80s, when we helped deliver Pac-Man to arcades. And then there are all the grand casino openings we’ve hosted over the years.
From our first brick-and-mortar casino in 1979 to breaking ground on the first and only casino in downtown Chicago over 40 years later, we’ve become experts at building incredible entertainment spaces for our players.
